Microsoft Research creates secure browser

The Register is running an article that claims that the MS Research group has created a secure browsers, that is better than current versions of IE and Chrome. The down side as reported, is that the browser - a.k.a Gazelle - is slower and requires more resources than its cousins.

My {take}

Hmmm…A secure browser from Microsoft? I’m sure i’ve heard that before. They should make it an open source effort. What do you think?

AMBER Alert app for iPhone: Helps find missing children

The app lists missing children; On sightings, users report a sighting of a victim or suspects along with their GPS coordinates - more.

My {take}

This is very good work. Technology isn’t all about how much money can be made. But sometimes, how we can best help others (with technology).

Conficker worm infects more than a million PCs

The {news}

Conficker worm has infected the German, French and British military. MS and others have created a group to go after worm’s creators.

My {take}

I still think that this is the wrong approach. Why not just fix Windows? Arresting the worm’s creators still leaves the holes in Windows.
